‘Gold Sponsor’ UDC’s station at the at the International Business Women’s Forum 2011
United Development Company (UDC) was the Gold Sponsor of the Second International Business Women’s Forum held in Doha on May 17-18.
“It was a great honour to be part of this event, which celebrates the Arab woman and proactively addresses the numerous challenges faced by Arab women in the region. UDC and its subsidiaries are committed to investing in the future of Qatar by actively promoting economic development and empowerment from within the community,” a spokesperson from UDC, commented.
UDC employees over 300 women at its holdings and subsidiaries. The company continues to showcase its support for women’s development and empowerment by focusing on promoting activities that are of a tangible benefit to the community and region, at large.
Held under the auspices of HH Sheikha Moza Bint Nasser, chairperson of the Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development, the forum focused on the economic empowerment of women in the Arab world, the growing role of women in business and the challenges and obstacles faced.
The forum which attracted leading professionals from around the region and internationally also analyzed a number of broader business issues that are of particular interest to Gulf and Arab countries.
