Qatar’s gaining global prominence has thrown open partnership opportunities for the American companies, the US Ambassador Susan L Ziadeh has said.
“Qatar’s rising international prominence is bringing about new and exciting partnership opportunities for the American companies,” she said, addressing an American trade mission, featuring 13 innovative American companies from a wide range of technology, infrastructure and communications sectors.
The trade missions offer an invaluable opportunity for top-tier US companies to meet face to face with potential partners, laying the foundation for long-lasting, high-quality business relationships, the Ambassador said.
The US-Qatari commercial ties have expanded at a rapid pace over the last seven years, with trade volumes growing from $738mn in 2003 to $4.6bn in 2012.
The trade mission to Doha, led by the bilateral US Arab Chamber of Commerce and the US-Qatar Business Council, connected American business leaders with Qatari government and commercial leadership to explore trade and investment partnerships for the 2022 FIFA World Cup and the realisation of Qatar National Vision 2030.
This visit underscores the US-Qatari commitment to shared trade growth and economic cooperation in US markets that meet Qatar’s demand for specialised, first-rate goods and services.
“This delegation marks our 18th trade mission to Qatar over the last 12 years... We’re really pleased with the diverse group we have and are hopeful their time in Doha will lead to mutually beneficial alliances,” said Aida Araissi, president of the Bilateral US-Arab Chamber of Commerce.
Patrick Theros, president of the US-Qatar Business Council and former ambassador to Qatar, expressed his thanks to Ambassador Ziadeh for her continued enthusiastic support for US business and welcomed his Qatari friends to engage with the visiting trade mission members, all of whom had unique products and services of value to Qatar’s programmes.
