In what has been the most successful first half in Alfardan Automobiles’ history, the official BMW Group importer in Qatar has registered 28% and 9% growth in BMW and MINI sales respectively, during the first half of 2013 compared to the same period in 2012.

In addition to the strength of the Qatari market, the figures highlight the high demand for BMW vehicles and the importance of Alfardan Automobiles’ enhanced customer service, extensive product offering and premium facilities in contributing to the brands’ ongoing growth, according to a statement.

Alfardan Automobiles general manager Mohamed Kandeel said, “Our first-half results are a direct reflection of the company’s exceptional standards across all areas of the business. Our aim is to continue on this success path by further investing in our facilities and staff in order to exceed all customer expectations and fuel the ongoing growth of BMW Group brands in Qatar. Looking ahead to the rest of the year, we have some exciting new models to launch, which, together with great customer service, make us confident that our impressive performance will continue throughout 2013.“

Alfardan Automobiles is the third best performing in the Middle East market in terms of sales growth for BMW and MINI. The company’s impressive first-half numbers also highlight Qatari customers’ appetite for luxury vehicles, the statement said.

The BMW 6 Series was one of Alfardan Automobiles’ bestselling model with a 235% increase in the first half compared to 2012. The all-new BMW 6 Gran Coupé, which was launched in Qatar last year, was a driving force behind the company’s positive sales achievements, the company said. Other models that showed positive double/triple-digit growth included the X3 (129%), X5 sports activity vehicle (110%) and X6 sports activity coupé (61%).

The MINI brand also continues to grow with a 9% increase during the first half of the year, an impressive achievement when operating in a market that predominantly favours large luxury vehicles. Contributing to these outstanding results were the MINI Hatch and MINI Roadster, the first open-top two-seater MINI.

Overall, BMW Group Middle East reported a 22% jump in sales for the first half of 2013 compared to the same period last year, with the automotive manufacturer delivering a record-breaking 12,657 BMW and MINI vehicles to customers across 13 markets in the Middle East.
