Qatar Chemical and Petrochemical Marketing and Distribution Company (Muntajat) and Belaruskali, the Belarusian state-owned producer of potash, have joined hands to market and sell potash fertiliser products in the global markets. The agreement gives Muntajat access to global market and sell up to 3mn tonnes of potash annually. Potash is a crop nutrient used in fertilisers worldwide. The marketing agreement was signed at Muntajat headquarters in Doha earlier this week, attended by executives of both the companies. “The agreement to sell potash from Belarus marks a strategic evolution of
Muntajat’s business. In addition to acting as the gateway to the chemicals, polymers and fertilisers produced in Qatar, we are expanding to complementary products as part of our global operations,”
according to Abdulrahman Ali al-Abdulla, CEO of Muntajat - the entity with the mandate to export Qatar’s 10mn tonnes of chemicals and petrochemicals to global markets. “Potash is a fertiliser in high
demand in established and emerging world markets. Adding this product to the nitrogen fertiliser portfolio distributed by Muntajat strengthens our position in this sector and offers customers more
convenience as they will be able to source urea and potash from one distributor,” Yousef Jeham al-Kuwari, executive director (marketing and sales), Muntajat, said.
