Two Qatari planes carrying flood aid to Sudan left Doha yesterday, upon the directive of HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani.
The planes are carrying 30 tonnes of various relief materials, bringing the total Qatari assistance headed for Sudan to 95 tonnes.
Search and Rescue Team of the Internal Security Force (Lekhwiya) was on Monday entrusted with transporting and delivering the aid, the first batch of which included 40 tonnes of relief materials and medicines in addition to accommodation tents and water drawing pumps.
The Lekhwiya team also transported and delivered on Tuesday the second cargo of 25 tonnes of relief items, including pumps to draw water, power generators, tents and medicines.
