Fusion concert to mark bank milestone

L Subramaniam ... Doha-bound
BANK Sarasin-Alpen, a subsidiary of Switzerland’s leading private banking institution Bank Sarasin and Company, will be celebrating the launch of its Qatar operations earlier this year by holding a ‘Global Fusion’ concert in Doha on November 7.
The event, being hosted with Alpen Capital Investment Bank, features violin maestro L Subramaniam, who is collaborating with world class artistes including Corky Siegel, Hubert Laws, Brahim Fribgane and Saeid Shanbehzadeh.
“The concert underlines not just the multi-cultural nature of Sarasin’s client base but also the increasingly globalised nature of the business world,” said Bank Sarasin-Alpen and Alpen Capital CEO and executive vice chairman Rohit Walia.
Described as ‘the God of Indian Violin’, Subramaniam is always on tour, performing across the world to rave reviews. His career as a child prodigy brought him into contact with some of the greatest musicians and he soon grew into a master of the violin
Siegel has earned an international reputation as one of the world’s great blues harmonica masters. He is a composer, blues pianist, singer/songwriter, and the winner of many prestigious awards.
Laws is described as one of the few classical artistes who has also mastered jazz, pop and rhythm-and-blues genres.
Fribgane is a creative and diverse musician who takes the doumbek to new levels, expressing the rhythmic complexities of a drum set with this one instrument.
The ensemble is directed by Saeid Shanbehzadeh, and has delighted audiences in Iran, Europe and North America.
Established in the Qatar Financial Centre, Alpen Investment Bank LLC is a member of the Alpen Capital Group.
