Launched under the patronage of HE Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad bin Khalifa al-Thani, the festival will continue until the end of this month.
Sabkhat al Marmi of Sealine, has been a favourite destination for visitors from all regions of the country during the weekend since the activities of falcon festival began earlier in the month. The festival goers appreciated the preparation and the warm hospitality of the organisers.
“This is a fantastic opportunity to get to know the age old traditions of the Qatari society,” an expatriate visitor said. Apart from the thrill of witnessing falcons chasing their prey, the visitors can also take in the exhibition of handicrafts, hunting gear, camping, and traditional tents.
These items reflect the old lifestyle of Qataris. The experience is made complete with servings of dates and Arab coffee. The organising committee has also provided transportation from Katara to the festival site.
