Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU), the second national university of Qatar and a member of Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development, will hold its inaugural Community Day on February 25.
HE the Minister of Energy and Industry Dr Mohamed bin Saleh al-Sada will inaugurate the programme. The event will be held from 8.30am to 1.30pm at Student Centre Ballroom, HBKU.
“HBKU, steered by HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani, continues to fulfil the Qatar National Vision 2030 by building and cultivating human potential through education, research and community development,” said a HBKU
statement.
HBKU Community Day will provide a forum to focus on reconciling the needs and interests of the local and regional industry with the programmes at the university. The event is aimed at facilitating an increased awareness of the programmes that HBKU has to offer to the business community in areas related to programmes, scholarships, and research initiatives.
Participants will learn more about the university’s academic curricula, research initiatives, institutional goals, and most importantly, about the need for the support of the public and private sectors as future employers of the graduates. The mission is also to find out more about the needs of HBKU’s industry partners and how to build stronger and more effective relationships in the areas of internships, employment and research
collaborations.
The ultimate goal of the annual event is to link the supply (education) and demand (Industry) needs of the labour force in Qatar by connecting the people who are the experts in these areas.
