HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani, HH the Deputy Emir Sheikh Abdullah bin Hamad al-Thani and HE the Prime Minister and Interior Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa al-Thani have sent cables of congratulations to Governor-General of New Zealand Patsy Reddy on her country’s National Day.
Advisory Council
panel meets
The Advisory Council’s Cultural and Information Affairs Committee yesterday held a meeting chaired by its rapporteur Dr Mohamed Ahmed al-Obaidan.
The committee examined a draft law amending some provisions of laws pertaining to the Ministry of Education and Higher Education.
The committee agreed to present its report on the draft law to the Advisory Council.
NHRC chief meets
Norway’s FM
Chairman of the National Human Rights Committee (NHRC) Dr Ali bin Sumaikh al-Marri met Norway’s Foreign Minister Borge Brende. They discussed ways of enhancing co-operation in the human rights field.
