A one-month closure from Thursday will be in place on Qutaifan Street in the direction towards Al Tarfa Street. The signal-controlled intersection between the two streets will also remain closed.
The closure aims to improve the layout of the signal-controlled intersections on Al Tarfa Street, which will eventually enhance traffic flow in the area, Ashghal said yesterday.
During the closure, those vehicles heading from the residential area to Al Tarfa Street can use the local roads there to reach Arab League Street and then Al Tarfa Street (as shown on the map).
Work is part of a project to developing roads surrounding Internal Security forces (ISF) camp in Al Duhail from three directions (north, east and south) in addition to constructing and developing five signal-controlled intersections, service roads and car parks.
The project works also include the construction of the surface water network (rainwater), deep micro tunneling works for the main sewage network, paving works, in addition to providing infrastructure for electricity and telecommunications utilities, and implementing the infrastructure for Intelligent Transportation Systems.
