The line links Hamad Port in Qatar with Mundra (Gujarat) and Nhava Sheva Port (Maharashtra) in India, the Minister of Transport and Communications (MoTC) said in a release.
At present, the vessels MV Hansa Magdeburg and MV Hansa Duburgh are conducting the service. The vessels will be visiting Hamad Port every Friday and the first shipment will have 710 containers. The capacity can be hiked as per the future requirement, MoTC informed.

The new maritime line will be accepting coastal cargo from west and east coasts of India, for transhipment at Mundra. Transhipment cargo from South East Asia/Far East via Mundra too will be accepted.
