The Ministry of Municipality and Environment’s (MME) General Cleanliness Department has expeditiously carried out a clean-up of the Doha Corniche following the huge gathering there on Sunday evening. In a statement yesterday, the MME said the department’s personnel were able to clean the entire area within three hours. The director of the department, Safar al-Shafi, stressed that the department was well-prepared to deal with such a huge turnout and had also formed a team of workers and supervisers to maintain cleanliness in the area, starting from 4pm on Sunday, to clear any refuse materials instantly. In addition, the entire Corniche Street was swept within a short period after the conclusion.
