Katara - the Cultural Village, in co-operation with the Unesco Office in Doha, will launch the second edition of the annual ‘Cultural Diversity Festival’ on Wednesday.
The festival will witness the participation of folkloric groups from more than 20 countries. A Qatari folkloric group’s performance will mark the opening of the event at 7.30pm at Katara’s Amphitheatre followed by a Palestinian folkloric show from 8.45pm to 9.30pm.
According to Katara, the festival will feature an array of cultural performances, reflecting authentic cultural identity from the participating countries.
Besides Qatar, this year’s edition will see countries such as Palestine, Lebanon, Algeria, Ethiopia, Togo, South Africa, China, South Korea, Pakistan, Iran, Chechnya, Turkey, Hungary, Germany, Slovakia, Ukraine, Bulgaria, the UK, Mexico, and Brazil taking part.
