Qatar remains a popular destination for people in Nepal seeking work, Doha resident Mohamed Shakir Ali told Qatar Urdu Radio’s live show Haqeeqat yesterday.
“You will find members of the Nepali community working in different professions here apart from construction and the truth is that Qatar remains a popular destination for many people in Nepal,” Ali said, adding that the ongoing Gulf crisis has not made any difference to the number of people applying for various jobs here.
“Qatar has become stronger after the blockade (began) and everyone wants to see it successfully host the 2022 FIFA World Cup,” he added. Haqeeqat, which aims to engage and interact with the large South Asian expatriate community in Qatar, is a joint venture of Gulf Times and Qatar Media Corporation Urdu Radio. It is broadcast from Sunday to Thursday on FM107.
