LuLu Hypermarket Group has announced that the opening of Discover America Festival 2017 took place at LuLu Hypermarket,
Al Gharafa.
The festival has been organised in co-ordination with the US embassy in Doha and American Chamber of Commerce in Qatar. “After the success of the first Discover America food festival in 2015, LuLu Group is privileged to again partner with the US embassy,” the Group said in a press statement.
Guests of honour included William Grant, chargé d’affaires at the US embassy, inaugurated the ceremony with Jay Turk, vice-chairman of the American Chamber of Commerce, and other dignitaries representing the US mission, chamber and US Department of Agriculture.
LuLu’s showcase of US produce and food products, as part of the Discover America Festival, will continue until November 15. American products will be on prominent display across all LuLu Hypermarket outlets in Qatar, and stores will offer
discounts on a wide range of such imported products.
LuLu’s management said it has been importing high-quality US products for more than a decade in Qatar, and with this festival it intends to further promote US products through their stores in Qatar.
Grant commended LuLu Group’s contributions to the development of Qatar’s strong economic ties with the US, and was amazed at the wide range of American foodstuffs on display, the
statement noted.
Besides offering products of renowned brands of US origin, LuLu Group has also focused on showcasing a wide range of ‘free from worry’ food products such as organic, gluten-free, lactose-free, dairy-free, vegan and other healthy options.
This year’s festival is themed on the traditional US fresh food market and food trucks seen from coast to coast across the American states.
