The delegation will showcase a full range of hotels, destination management companies, event management companies, and state-of-the-art venues that make for an attractive business events destination in the region.
Following a series of winning bids to host international events in Qatar, QTA and its partners are aiming to build on buyers’ interest and draw more event planners to the destination.
At least 12 international conferences are already planned to be held in Doha in 2018, QTA noted. Among those confirmed are: the first Middle East edition of International Conference for Entrepreneurship, Innovation and Regional Development, and International Air Transport Association’s ‘International Ground Handling Conference.’
“Event planners and organisers are always looking for new destinations to host their events. IBTM Barcelona presents a unique opportunity for us to showcase Qatar as a welcoming and easily-accessible meeting point where professionals with shared interests, can learn and share knowledge while experiencing the country’s unique cultural offerings,” QTA’s Exhibitions director Ahmed al-Obaidli said.
“Qatar’s authentic tourism offerings, combined with world-class venues, an expanded transport network, and exceptional accessibility via the national carrier, Qatar Airways have already proven Qatar to be a highly attractive business event destination,” he noted.
During the three-day global trade event, QTA will hold a networking lunch where buyers are invited to learn more about the country’s unique tourism products and services, which make for memorable and authentic experiences.
Additionally, QTA and partner delegates from Qatar are also set to attend match-making sessions with relevant industry representatives from across the world.
The following QTA partners will be exhibiting at the Qatar Business Events stand: Alwadi Hotel Doha - MGallery by AccorHotels, Arabian Adventures Qatar, Doha Exhibition and Convention Centre, Labbaik Tours & Travels, Marriott Marquis City Centre Doha, Qatar International Adventures, Qatar Airways (QMICE), Sharq Village & Spa (a Ritz-Carlton Hotel), Sheraton Grand Doha Resort & Convention Hotel, and The Torch Doha.
