HE the Prime
Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa al-Thani yesterday
chaired the Cabinet’s regular weekly meeting at its Emiri Diwan
premises.
After the meeting, HE the Minister of Justice and Acting
Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Dr Hassan Lahdan Saqr al-Mohannadi
said the Cabinet reviewed topics on the agenda.
The Cabinet approved
the renewal of the membership of the Board of Directors of Qatar
Financial Centre Regulatory Authority (QFCRA) as of March 8, 2018,
appointing a member in the board and determining the remuneration of
board members.
The Cabinet reviewed the following topics and took the appropriate decisions:
1- Draft law organising scholarships.

Letter of HE the Minister of Development Planning and Statistics on the
visuals of each of the Ministry of Interior and the Ministry of
Administrative Development, Labour and Social Affairs on the achievement
of the recommendations made regarding population growth.
3- Memo of HE the Minister of Public Health on the results of the visit to Oman in November 2017.

Letter of the National Committee for the Prohibition of Weapons on the
39th report of the work of the Committee from December 1 to 9, 2017.
Public security chief meets Ethiopian envoy
Director
General of Public Security Major General Saad bin Jassim al-Khulaifi
met the ambassador of Ethiopia to Qatar Metasebia Tadesse in Doha
yesterday. They discussed subjects of joint interest during the meeting.
Dulsco Qatar recognised for turtle conservation
Dulsco,
a regional leader in people and environmental solutions, has been
recognised for its turtle conservation campaign by the Ministry of
Municipality and Environment (MME).
The campaign saw Dulsco Qatar
organise a clean-up in partnership with the MME at Fuwairit beach. The
aim of the campaign was to raise awareness about sea turtle conservation
and ensure a clean and healthy environment for their nesting. Forty
Dulsco employees, along with school students and municipality cleaners,
engaged in the activity. The honouring ceremony saw Dulsco awarded a
certificate and shield from the MME as a token of appreciation for their
active participation.
WCM-Q extends application deadline until Jan 30
Weill Cornell Medicine – Qatar has extended the application deadline for its annual Biomedical Research Training Programme for Nationals until January 30.
The programme is aimed at recent Qatari graduates of any discipline who are interested in pursuing a career as a bench or clinical researcher, or a research administrator. The training programme begins on February 11 and is a full-time, six-month employment commitment with trainees receiving a graduation certificate upon completion.
