HE the Minister of Economy and Commerce Sheikh Ahmed bin Jassim bin Mohamed al-Thani has discussed means of enhancing co-operation with officials in Raleigh, North Carolina, during separate meetings held on the sidelines of Qatar's 'economic roadshow' in the US.
During his meeting with Will Miller, deputy secretary of the North Carolina Department of Commerce, HE the Minister discussed mechanisms to develop co-operation between the two countries, expand trade exchanges, encourage the private sector to establish joint ventures to benefit from the promising investment opportunities and the excellent business environment provided by Qatar.
HE Sheikh Ahmed also discussed with Chris Chung, CEO of the Economic Development Partnership of North Carolina, possibilities of co-operation in the economic, trade and investment fields and ways of developing them, investment incentives and the economic diversification strategy adopted by Qatar in order to achieve Qatar National Vision 2030.

Meanwhile, HE the Minister met Adrienne Cole, president and CEO of the Greater Raleigh Chamber of Commerce, to discuss means of developing co-operation between the two countries, expanding trade exchanges and encouraging the private sector to establish joint ventures.
The meeting also reviewed the investment incentives and facilities provided by the Qatari economy, which would strengthen partnerships and attract US investments to open new markets in the region, including the Qatari market as a promising one that the US companies look for in light of the strong economic growth witnessed by Qatar as well as its high purchasing power.
HE the Minister invited the Chamber of Commerce in Raleigh to visit Qatar with a delegation of major companies in order to identify investment opportunities in the State.
The Greater Raleigh Chamber of Commerce includes under its umbrella more than 2,200 companies.
Exhibition in Raleigh from Friday
A two-day exhibition will begin on Friday in Raleigh, North Carolina, as part of Qatar’s 'economic roadshow' in the US.
The exhibition will bring together representatives from major institutions in Qatar, including the Ministry of Economy and Commerce, Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy, Qatar Airways, Doha Film Institute and Qatar Foundation along with a number of US companies that have partnered in investment projects with Qatar, such as Occidental Petroleum, Boeing, ExxonMobil and ConocoPhillips.
The exhibition is aimed at highlighting Qatar's cultural heritage and strong economic potential in addition to familiarising visitors with the major development projects that are being implemented to achieve Qatar National Vision 2030, including projects related to the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
This is the third such exhibition to take place during the US tour, with the previous editions being held in Miami, Florida, and Charleston, South Carolina.
