Governor of River Nile State, Hatim Al Wassila al-Simani, yesterday praised the role played by Qatar in bringing about comprehensive development to his country after establishing lasting peace in Darfur.
In remarks to the Sudanese radio, he said that Qatari achievements in Sudan are clear and directly benefited people in all aspects of life.
He added that Sudan is satisfied with the strategic partnership with the State of Qatar, which he said was expanding at every stage in a way that serves the interests of the two peoples, and supporting global stability by transforming the region into a global economic centre. The governor said that his state, along with others, were a successful example of Qatari partnerships that had brought unprecedented economic transformations.
Envoy presents credentials
Somalia President Mohamed Abdullahi Mohamed Farmajo has received the credentials of Hassan Hamza Asad Hashem as Qatar’s ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary to Somalia.
During the meeting, the ambassador conveyed the greetings of His Highness the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani to the Somali president. The Somali president conveyed his greetings to the Emir and wishes for Qatar’s continued progress, development and prosperity. He also wished the ambassador success in the performance of his duties, stressing that he will provide the ambassador all the support to promote bilateral relations between the two countries and closer co-operation in various fields.
