The Qatar Financial Centre (QFC) has announced several initiatives to mark Ramadan, under the theme ‘Road to Humanity’.
QFC will host a series of workshops through the ‘One Family’ initiative.
Volunteers from the QFC will help instill the family feeling through sharing their talents and working with members of the Qatar community to create a greater sense of unity.
The workshops will include a comics and drawing class for Qatar Orphan Foundation ‘Dreama’ children, reading stories for the elderly at the Ehsan Elderly Centre, among other activities.
To further support children in need, during Eid al-Fitr, the QFC will also sponsor orphans on behalf of various organisations in Qatar as a way to encourage them to ‘pay it forward’ by continuing to have a positive effect on society.
The recipients will get the chance to continue sponsoring the child indefinitely and will be able to follow the child’s progress with monthly updates provided by Qatar Charity.
QFC will continue the spirit of giving fostered throughout Ramadan with ‘Hand in Hand’, the first charity treasure hunt in Qatar for families, who will work in teams to find Ramadan gifts hidden throughout a maze at Aspire Zone.
All ticket proceeds will go toward purchasing school supplies and gifts for children of Dreama. “Ramadan is a time for self-reflection, which naturally leads us to want to help others.
The QFC’s Ramadan initiatives emphasise that we all stand together as one family and one community in Qatar, a spirit that helps us as individuals and as a society,” according to Sarah al-Dorani, acting chief marketing and corporate communications officer, QFC Authority.
