Al Khor and Al Thakhira Municipality’s health control section has continued with its inspection campaigns at various food establishments within the municipality to ensure food safety for consumers, the Ministry of Municipality and Environment (MME) has said in a statement.
The campaigns, part of an initiative that was launched in conjunction with the beginning of Ramadan, are carried out under the guidance of Juma Khamis al-Muraikhi, director of the municipality, and within the framework of the authorities’ keenness to ensure the health and safety of consumers by preventing the circulation of any products not suitable for human
consumption.
The food establishments covered by the inspection campaigns included dairy production facilities, with samples being collected and sent to the central laboratory of the Ministry of Public Health to ensure that they are fit for consumption, the statement notes.
The health control section has carried out an inspection campaign in shops selling sweets and nuts, as part of preparations for Garangao and to ensure that the products are fit for human consumption.
Similarly, inspectors from Umm Salal Municipality have conducted a campaign targeting outlets selling sweets and nuts to ensure the safety and quality of such goods in the run-up to Garangao.
