The Institute of Integrated Electrical Engineers – State of Qatar Chapter (IIEE-SQC), Philippine Institute of Civil Engineers Qatar and Associates (PQASS), and Philippine Society of Mechanical Engineers – Qatar (PSME-Q) Toastmasters Club held its first confluence meeting recently via a hybrid set up with the theme “Vitamin C, Absorbing the Sunshine of Learning”.
The group aims to achieve camaraderie amongst active Filipino Toastmasters Club and encourage other groups to have a charter and avail the benefits. The event was led by the three club presidents: Jimmy Michael Bugay (IIEE-SQC), Roy H Mausig (PQASS), and Sherwin Olimpo (PSME-Q).
The occasion was hosted by Shielu Manantan as the Toastmaster of the Night. one speaker stood out among all six – Aris Riparip from IIEE-SQC Toastmasters Club with the speech “Stop, Look and Listen.”
Jimmy Michael Bugay and George Leonardo bagged the Best Evaluators while Dorily Macaraeg won the Best Speaker in Table Topic session.
Area directors Lornalyn Tallod, George Leonardo, and Zaher Saleh and engineer Adonis Talabo, chairman of Philippine Professional Organisation Qatar were also present. Distinguished toastmaster Sabeena M K addressed the confluence meeting and gave feedback as a general evaluator. She commended the three club presidents, the executive committee members, and the group for the successful meeting.
