Officials of Qatar Chamber and the Ministry of Economy of Armenia held a meeting in Doha yesterday to discuss ways to enhance cooperation relations.
Qatar Chamber chairman Sheikh Khalifa bin Jassim al-Thani and Armenia’s Minister of Economy Vahan Kerobyan discussed several topics in the presence of Qatar Chamber general manager Saleh bin Hamad al-Sharqi and Armenian ambassador Armen Sargsyan.
The meeting reviewed Qatar-Armenia commercial and economic ties and ways to enhance them, the investment climate in both countries, and the possibility of forging partnerships between private sector companies that would develop bilateral trade.
Kerobyan called Qatari businessmen to study the investment opportunities available in his country, noting that Armenia offers plenty of opportunities in many sectors, such as agriculture, livestock, tourism, real estate, and advanced technologies.
For his part, Sheikh Khalifa praised the friendly relations between both countries and underscored the common desire towards levelling up economic and trading cooperation.
He stressed the chamber will encourage Qatari investors to explore Armenia’s investment climate and take advantage of the opportunities available in many fields, including food security and modern technology.
It is worth mentioning that the two countries are linked to a set of agreements and memoranda of understanding related to trade, economic, and technical cooperation; the encouragement and mutual protection of investments; cultural, agricultural, and tourism; and the prevention of double taxation.
