* Minister launches new website

HE the Minister of Labour Dr Ali bin Smaikh al-Marri on Sunday inaugurated the official website of the ministry (www.mol.gov.qa) in the presence of a number of officials.
The new website serves as a digital portal for many of the services offered by the Ministry of Labour to the public. It provides about 43 services and electronic forms in the first stage. It also facilitates searches to obtain the required information or service, in addition to the media centre that highlights the most important news and events of the ministry.
The site contains many sections, tabs and windows introducing the competencies and functions of the ministry and its affiliated sectors and departments, in addition to a legislation page aimed at raising public awareness of the latest developments in the work environment in Qatar, the ministry has said in a statement.
On this occasion, HE the Minister stressed that the launch of the new website comes within the ministry's vision to enhance the digital transformation of all the services it provides to the public, leading to paperless services, which will facilitate the delivery of services electronically, quickly and accurately, Qatar News Agency reports.
The services have been structured, arranged and categorised on the website in a way that makes it easier for users to access them easily and quickly. The home page contains widely and frequently used services with the option of categorising the services provided to companies and individuals.
"The new website of the ministry is characterised by ease of use and quick access to the required service. It displays laws, decisions and legislations that govern the labour sector. Furthermore, it also allows the user to evaluate the quality of service and provide suggestions aimed at improving it," the statement adds.
In April, the ministry had launched a unit for managing the digital transformation and automation of services, with the aim of accelerating the implementation of the ministry's plan to provide all services electronically and rely on digital solutions.
The Digital Transformation Management Unit will develop, update and offer more than 80 services and applications electronically, as the
transaction or application will be completed without the need to visit the ministry building and service offices, or submit paper documents.
