To raise awareness of environmentally friendly practices, the team of Marsa Malaz Kempinski, The Pearl - Doha organised a beach clean-up drive recently in celebration of Qatar Sustainability Week.
The drive was attended by 35 volunteers from the hotel`s Welfare Committee Team as well as guests, who were able to remove around 80kg of litter.
“We at Marsa Malaz Kempinski are proud to organise and take part in the beach clean-up drive as part of our continuous efforts to sustain the environment and to do our part to contribute towards the environment and the sustainability in Qatar,” said Karim Tayach, Kempinski Area general manager – GCC, excluding UAE.
In a statement, Marsa Malaz Kempinski said it "is committed to continue its diversified welfare practices, among the many planned initiatives, which include more beach cleaning campaigns as well as tree planting, conservation techniques and recycling activities. These vital efforts aim to strengthen the awareness and bond between its team members and the community, and to achieve its environmental sustainability goals".
