Speaking at a press conference today, Southgate said that the players are just excited to play the World Cup and football, because this is the most important moment in their history and football career.
England will meet Iran tomorrow in Group B competitions which also include the USA and Wales.
Southgate noted that he respects the Iranian team a lot, especially that it has a veteran coach and includes a distinguished group of high-quality players who play in various European leagues, and some of them in the English Premier League.
He stressed the importance of winning tomorrow's match and providing a performance that satisfies and motivates the fans and entertains the players.
He noted that the game against Iran will be tough and that the England team must do their best to win, pointing to a distinguished squad of players in various positions.
England striker Harry Kane expressed his hope to win the Golden Boot title for the second time in a row after winning it four years ago in the Russia World Cup, but stressed at the same time that the most important thing for him is to help his country win the world title.
Kane noted strong competition in the World Cup in the presence of many stars, led by Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo, Neymar and Kylian Mbappe, indicating that he will seek to take advantage of the opportunities available for him in order to succeed in this challenge.
