The Darb Al Saai activities at Umm Salal Mohamed, which mark the beginning of the Qatar National Day (QND) 2022 celebrations, continues to attract a good number of visitors.
Darb Al Saai is open to the public from 3pm-11pm daily.
A number of ambassadors accredited to Qatar and the Unesco representative for the Gulf States and Yemen were among the visitors at Darb Al Saai.
Accompanied during their tour by HE the Minister of Culture Sheikh Abdulrahman bin Hamad al-Thani, the ambassadors learned about different aspects of Qatari culture and attended a number of cultural and folklore activities, QNA reported.
They attended part of the musical evening, 'The Oud Trilogy', presented by the Music Affairs Centre, and visited a number of exhibitions and art workshops presented by the Liwan Pavilion at Darb Al Saai.
The ambassadors praised the activities and events organised by the National Day celebration committee as well as the festivities coinciding with the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.
Among the participating entities is the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change, whose pavilion includes four sections on wildlife nurseries that contain wild trees and plants, and other sections containing Arabian oryx, gazelles, ostriches, houbara bustards, rabbits and wild reptiles.
For the first time, the ministry is participating in Darb Al Saai with events held in co-operation with the Qatar Scientific Club in an initiative to reuse plastic materials, providing an electric scooter that collects plastic bottles from the public to be utilised in the recycling process.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Social Development and Family said about 100 productive families are participating in the Darb Al Saai activities. The ministry has a pavilion at the venue.
The Organising Committee for the QND 2022 Celebrations has dedicated six buses to transport World Cup fans free of charge to Darb Al Saai and back.
The Ministry of Culture has prepared a large collection of events with 4,500 different cultural and heritage activities that cover more than 191 main events.
