HE the President of the Supreme Judiciary Council (SJC) and President of the Court of Cassation Dr Hassan bin Lahdan al-Mohannadi has said that Qatar National Day (QND) represents a notable occasion for celebration, especially since it coincides this year with the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 activities that impressed the whole world with the impressive success of the State of Qatar during its hosting of the tournament.
In his exclusive remarks to Qatar News Agency (QNA) on the National Day, HE Dr al-Mohannadi said that choosing "Our Unity Source of Our Strength" as a slogan for this year's QND embodies the how Qatari people stand tall against hardships throughout history.
He extended his congratulation to His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani, His Highness the Deputy Amir Sheikh Abdullah bin Hamad al-Thani, and the Qatari people on the of National Day and the impressive success of Qatar in hosting the World Cup, adding that "Our Unity Source of Our Strength" was reflected in the success of a mega event like the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, which required the concerted efforts of everyone, which has been achieved on the ground.
HE Dr al-Mohannadi said that the SJC took all the measures and preparations within the framework of the tasks and responsibilities entrusted to it to contribute to the success of the World Cup and to ensure the facilitated progress of the tournament in Qatar.
He pointed out that the SJC has formed courts and committees to settle disputes related to the World Cup and completed all their security procedures in coordination with the concerned authorities.
He added that Qatar managed to show an honourable image of the Qatari authentic Arab and Islamic identity, in addition to its impressive logistical success in organising the World Cup, which delivered a message showing the cultural and civilised face of the country and the region in general.
He said that Qatar's success in organising the World Cup contributed to promoting the advanced international position that Qatar has reached during the past few years politically, economically, socially, culturally, and in sports.
HE Dr al-Mohannadi pointed out that the national initiative for developing justice systems, launched by the SJC, will complete its fourth year by the end of 2022 after accomplishing several achievements, notably the digital transformation mechanism of litigation procedures which has contributed significantly to reducing the duration of litigation and facilitating litigation procedures for litigants, lawyers, and experts.
Regarding the achievements made by the SJC in terms of electronic services, he revealed the launch of marriage contract cards, the digital family documentation programme, the electronic auction programme, and other litigation complementing programmes in the court system to manage cases electronically throughout its different stages.
He stressed the continuation of work on developing the judicial system from a technical point of view and the expansion of electronic justice framework so that the digital transformation include electronic system of the court deposits during 2022, a system for inheritance procedures, co-operating with labour and rental dispute settlement committees to transfer them within an integrated electronic system.
He noted that the SJC is committed to activate the best performance and efficiency of the role of the judicial system, seek to achieve and keep pace with the ongoing inclusive development in the country, apply the highest degrees of swift justice, and strive to build a united and strong society where safety, security, and justice prevail.
