Diplomats in Doha have stressed the significance of this year's National Day as it coincides with the finale of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022. On this occasion, Kuwait's ambassador to Qatar Khaled bin Badr al-Mutairi stressed that Qatar's National Day celebrations coinciding with the final of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 presents a bright and honorable illustration of the wisdom and foresight of the Qatari leadership, adding that this year's celebration is more impressive and distinguished because of its impact on the people of the whole world who will be part of the joy and celebration on this occasion.
In a statement to Qatar News Agency (QNA), he pointed out that National Day celebrations in conjunction with the World Cup will be an occasion for the countries of the world and its various people to share the celebration with the Qatari people. The ambassador affirmed that the slogan of the National Day this year 'Our Unity is the Source of Our Strength' carries sublime meanings that enhance synergy and cohesion, show the people rallying around the State, and symbolise the unity of people which is the basis of strength, explaining that this embodies the firm cohesion between the leadership and the people in Qatar.
On this occasion, he appreciated the development witnessed in Qatar at all levels, saying that the whole world is witnessing the process of development in Qatar in all fields while preserving traditions thanks to its wise leadership, which makes us proud among nations as one united Gulf people. He added that we see that the impressive success achieved by Qatar in organizing the most impressive World Cup in history is the result of years of diligence and dedication in order for this World Cup to be successful at all levels and an proud occasion for Qataris, Gulf nationals and all Arabs. He congratulated Qatar and all citizens and residents living on its land for the achievements that make every Gulf and Arab country proud, expressing his wishes for continued safety and prosperity for Qatar.
Egyptian ambassador to Qatar Amr El Sherbiny stressed that the National Day represents an opportunity to recall the strength of relations between Egypt and Qatar, and to praise the two brotherly countries role in strengthening the bonds of fraternity and bilateral co-operation as well as taking the relations between the two countries to broader horizons to suite the current phase demands and aspirations of the two peoples. In remarks to Qatar News Agency (QNA), he praised Qatar's choosing of "Our Unity Source of Our Strength" as a slogan for this year's National Day celebrations, especially since it comes during a phase where Arab countries are rebuilding their relationships on firmer grounds of cooperation, offering a better life for all, securing stability for the region, and achieving the aspirations of its peoples in advancement, pride, and prosperity.
He said that unity is the slogan and purpose Arab countries have sought for years, pointing out that unity represents the foundation of strength. The ambassador extended his congratulations to His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani, the Qatari government, and the people of Qatar that have historical fraternal bonds and ancient deep-rooted relations with the Egyptian people.
Acting charge d'affaires of the Iraqi embassy Mohamed Issa al-Issawi stressed that choosing to play the final match of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 on the National Day is an optimal choice to link national events with global events, expressing his wish for continuous success, security and prosperity for Qatar, represented by His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani and His Highness the Father Amir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa al-Thani.
