Speaker of Shura Council meets UAE Speaker of Federal National Council

HE the Speaker of the Shura Council, Hassan bin Abdullah al-Ghanim, on Sunday met the Speaker of the Federal National Council of the United Arab Emirates, Saqr Ghobash, and his accompanying delegation, who were visiting the country to attend the final match of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.At the beginning of the meeting, HE al-Ghanim welcomed the Speaker of the UAE Federal National Council and members of the delegation, noting the brotherly relations between the two countries.Ghobash congratulated Qatar on the success of hosting the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, praising the impressive and distinguished organisation of the tournament, which is being held for the first time in the Arab region.He also congratulated Qatar, His Highness the Amir, the government and the Qatari people, on the occasion of the National Day, expressing his admiration for the renaissance and progress Qatar is witnessing in various fields. He wished Qatar further progress, growth and prosperity.During the meeting, they reviewed the fraternal relations between the two countries, the existing aspects of co-operation in the parliamentary field, and ways to enhance these.The two sides stressed the need to enhance co-ordination of positions between them in regional and international parliamentary forums in order to achieve the interests and aspirations of the two brotherly peoples, and support the interests of the Gulf Co-operation Council states.The meeting was attended by a number of members and officials of the Shura Council, and the delegation accompanying the UAE Speaker.
