Paris Saint-Germain chairman and CEO Nasser bin Ghanim al-Khelaifi said he was proud of the successful hosting of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, hailing it as a unique event that brought people from different cultures and nationalities together.
“The Qatar World Cup was absolutely great in all respects. The final match between Argentina and France was one of the best, if not the best, of all times,” al-Khelaifi said on Sunday, after Argentina were crowned champions for the third time.
“The entire tournament was a unique experience and the Qatari success dazzled the entire world.
“Qatar cordially welcomed all visitors to the World Cup and the media too started talking positively about the country. Doha is the world’s sports capital and Lusail Stadium is one of the best around the globe,” he said.
“We’re proud of all our stadiums that hosted World Cup matches and we look forwardto organising more competitions there in the future. Our dreams have no limits,” said al-Khelaifi.
He also extended his best wishes to PSG’s Argentinian star Lionel Messi and Frenchman Kylian Mbappe for their high-quality performances during the World Cup.
