A Palestinian prisoner was declared dead Tuesday morning as a result of the policy of deliberate medical negligence followed by the occupation prison services, according to the Palestinian Prisoner's Society (PPS) and the Palestinian Prisoners' Affairs Commission.
They said that Nasser Abu Hmaid, 50, who entered into a coma two days ago and was yesterday transferred from Ramle clinic prison, where he has been kept, to a hospital, has died due to years of medical negligence, according to Palestine news agency (WAFA).
Head of the Prisoners and Ex-Prisoners Affairs Commission Major General Qadri Abu Bakr held Israeli occupation government and the prison services fully responsible for the death of Abu Hmaid, calling on the world and the international community to stop the ongoing Israeli massacre against the Palestinian prisoners.
Abu Hmaid served multiple life terms. Several attempts to get him released to get treatment outside the prison have failed.
With the martyrdom of Nasser Abu Hamid, the number of martyrs of the captive movement has risen to 233 since 1967, of whom 74 have risen as a result of the crime of medical negligence (slow killing).
Today, the number of prisoners in the occupation prisons is about 4,700, including about 150 children and 33 female prisoners.
