Qatar Charity (QC) sponsored orphans in 11 countries celebrated Qatar National Day (QND), with activities including several cultural activities, entertainment, and sports events.The QND celebrations took place in Somalia, Niger, Pakistan, Tunisia, Ghana, Sudan, Jordan, Kosovo, Albania, Bosnia, and Djibouti.The celebrations were held in the presence of several Qatari ambassadors, diplomats, members of the embassies, and representatives of civil society organisations.The participating orphans and their families expressed their congratulations to Qatar on its National Day, wishing it continued prosperity.Through QC's office in Sudan, 500 orphans and their families participated in activities that included scout performances, competitive events, and other activities.Qatar's ambassador to Sudan Mohammed bin Ibrahim al-Sada received the orphans sponsored by QC at the Nile International Club and watched with them the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 final between Argentina and France.QC participated with many Qatari institutions in Sudan by holding distinguished exhibitions during the celebration of the QND held by the Embassy of Qatar in Khartoum, where the QC pavilion screened a documentary and many models of QC projects and activities accomplished during more than a quarter of a century of humanitarian giving in Sudan. QC sponsors 13,000 orphans in Sudan.In Somalia, the QC office celebrated QND in the presence of the sponsored children who sent a message to Qatar expressing their gratitude for its support and for always standing with them. During the ceremony, competitions and entertainment activities were held. The number of orphans sponsored by QC in Somalia is 19,000.In Pakistan, QC office celebrated QND in Islamabad with orphans. Nayef Muhammad al-Hajri, third secretary at the Qatari Embassy in Pakistan, was the chief guest. Parents and civil society activists joined the celebration.On this occasion, a video narrating the history of Qatar was shown, and a drawing competition was held in which children drew the flag of Qatar. Al-Hajri distributed gifts to the children.In Kosovo, 50 orphans and their parents participated in the QC QND celebrations, which included entertainment and cultural activities for children. There was a brief lecture on Qatar and its role in charitable work in Kosovo and the rest of the world. At the end of the ceremony, gifts were distributed to orphans.In Bosnia and Herzegovina, 150 people, including female students residing in the QC residence, participated in the QND celebrations. A documentary highlighting the development and renaissance of Qatar was screened.
