Turkish Interior Minister Suleiman Soylu announced the launch of a new phase of the "Aren Hisar" series of security operations, which include sites in 4 Turkish provinces in the southeast of the country, targeting the Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK), with 3,650 members of the gendarmerie, police and security forces taking part in this phase.
The Turkish Ministry of Interior launched a series of "Aren" security operations in January 2021, to combat the Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK).
These operations were named after the Turkish youth, Arin Bulbul, who was killed by militants of the Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) on August 11, 2017.
