Alberto Sanna rides Al Shaqab Racing’s Meethag to victory in the Umm Al Zubar Cup during Qatar Racing and Equestrian Club’s (QREC) 25th Race Meeting at Al Rayyan Racecourse yesterday. The seven-year-old mare – trained by Eric Lemartinel – outpaced Hidalgo Du Croate, ridden by JP Guillambert by over one length to win the feature for Purebred Arabians. Soufiane Saadi rode Baker De Saularie to third place in the 1700m feature race. Also yesterday, Pranil Arvind Kharat guided Ahmed Kobeissi-trained Ietibar to Local Purebred Arabian Conditions win while Doghan under Ivan Rossi raced to Local Thoroughbred Handicap victory.
