Qatar participated in the opening of the Arab Productive Families Exhibition (house of Arabs) that kicked off on Thursday in Qubba Palace in Cairo, Egypt, and lasts for a whole week with the participation of 150 exhibitors. HE the Minister of Social Development and Family Maryam bint Ali bin Nasser al-Misnad represented Qatar during the opening of the exhibition.
In exclusive remarks to Qatar News Agency (QNA), Egyptian Minister of Social Solidarity Nevine El-Qabbaj praised Qatar's participation in the opening of the exhibition, which comes within the framework of Qatar's keenness to strengthen the relations between the member states of the Council of Arab Ministers of Social Affairs and to enhance work in significant areas that represent a priority for joint Arab social development work.
HE al-Misnad praised the Arab participation in the exhibition's activities, pointing out that 12 Arab countries are taking in the exhibition, as well as nine Arab ministers attended the opening ceremony. She noted that Jordan was the guest of honour at the exhibition as the head of the Executive Office of the Council of Arab Ministers of Social Affairs. HE al-Misnad said that the significance of the exhibition lies in the cultural and commercial exchange and strengthening of the relations between Arab productive families, which will lead to strengthening Arab heritage and economic empowerment of families as the exhibition is supportive of productive families with family-friendly projects.
The exhibition constitutes an opportunity to display the works of Arab productive families and learn about the enriched cultures of Arab countries in the field of handicrafts and protect a lot of these crafts from obsolescence.
