Qatari Diar has announced that the Lusail Boulevard main road will be opened to vehicular traffic at 10pm on Saturday, January 7.
The announcement on social media says "cars will be allowed to access Lusail Boulevard, which will no longer be pedestrian-only, from 10pm on Saturday, January 7, 2023".
Lusail Boulevard was among the most popular destinations fot fans during the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, welcoming thousands with its activities and attractions. It was open only to pedestrians during the World Cup and remained so after the tournament concluded on December 18, 2022.
Lusail Boulevard also hosted Argentina's World Cup victory parade after the final against France, along with a parade marking Qatar National Day.
