Saudi national team defeated Yemen 2-0 Friday evening at the Basra International Stadium in the second match of group A of the Arab Gulf Cup Football Championship (Gulf 25), which Iraq will host until Jan. 19.
Samihan Al Nabit scored the first goal in the (19th) minute, and Musab Al Juwair added the second goal from a penalty kick in the (34th) minute.
With this victory Saudi Arabia raised its score to three points at the top of the general standings of group A, with a difference of two points from Iraq and Oman while Yemen came last in the group without any points.
Saudi will face Iraq at the Basra International Stadium in the second round of Group A on Monday, which will also witness the confrontation of Oman and Yemen.
