LuLu Qatar launched the ‘Shop and Donate’ campaign for the fourth consecutive year, which allocates part of the sales of some products to support the Qatar Cancer Society's (QCS) awareness efforts, resulting in a donation of QR125,000.
This periodic initiative comes from LuLu's belief in the importance of social responsibility towards raising awareness of cancer and ways to prevent it, promoting a culture of early detection, as well as supporting those living with the disease.
Shanavas Ibrahim, regional manager of LuLu Hypermarket, handed over the donation cheque to Ammar al-Mashhadani, the public relations officer of QCS, who thanked the officials of the LuLu Qatar for their constant support of QCS, whether in the field of raising awareness of the disease or supporting those living with it.
LuLu has periodic initiatives with the charity, the most important of which is raising awareness of healthy food, as it presented, in a first-of-its-kind industry, healthy cooking shows targeting its patrons to spread awareness about the importance of healthy food in preventing diseases, especially cancer.
Ibrahim said: "The launch of this campaign comes within the framework of LuLu's commitment to supporting social responsibility programmes, especially the cause of cancer control, which comes as a top priority which makes the cooperation with the society a perfect one during the year.”
