Al Shamal Municipality's municipal control department carried out 1,725 regular inspection tours in December and issued a number of related violation reports regarding the regulation of human food control, public hygiene, and building violations.
The health control section carried out 1,223 regular inspection tours on the various food outlets and retailers within the municipality. The section examined 263 slaughtered carcasses of livestock at the automated slaughterhouse, where two were completely destroyed and 33kg of meat destroyed as well for being unsafe for human consumption. Further, 28 different food samples were sent to the central labs to make the necessary food health and safety examinations.
The general control section carried out 340 inspection campaigns, spotted 24 abandoned vehicles and issued some other violation reports. The section also received a related complaint and dealt with accordingly.
The technical control section carried out 153 regular inspections on buildings and state property, issued some violation reports and addressed a number of complaints.
