AAB Toyota showcases GR models in Qatar Custom Show 2023

Abdullah Abdulghani & Bros Co (AAB) distributors for Toyota vehicles in Qatar, participated in the just-concluded Qatar Custom Show 2023 as the platinum sponsor. The event at Qatar Racing Club from January 5-7, attracted automotive enthusiasts across the country. AAB showcased the full range of Toyota Gazoo Racing (GR) vehicles, including the newly launched GR86, GR Supra, Land Cruiser GR and the Hilux GR, a statement said. Akio Toyoda, Toyota Motor Corporation CEO along with Hiromu Naruse, created GR to fuel their passion to make ever-better cars.
Through their experiences at the Nürburgring, they and their crew worked together to overcome challenges, and this know-how cultivated at the track ultimately found its way back, helping Gazoo Racing forge better machines. With a stunning design that feels as alluring as it is powerful, GR Supra is no mere sports car—it’s a work of art. The GR Supra is powered by a 3L, 500Nm of torque turbo charged engine that produces 382hp and instant response. The GR 86 has a 2.4L naturally aspirated, horizontally opposed four-cylinder boxer engine, bringing a significant power upgrade from 205 to 228 hp and 212 to 250 nm of torque.
The power boost stems from a series of tweaks, including increased bore size, changes to the intake and exhaust systems, and optimisation of the Toyota D-4S dual injection technology. These deliver a responsive and powerful driving experience, particularly when coming out of curves onto straight roads.
In addition, drivers can choose between a 6-speed manual (MT) or automatic transmission (AT). The bigger engine also improves zero-to-60 times, from 7.0 to 6.3 seconds for the MT and from 8.0 to 6.9 seconds for the AT.
Zero compromise has been made on the Land Cruiser 300 GR Sport. With more performance-tuned capability, multiple sport driving modes, safety, and styling for 2022, the Land Cruiser GR comes in V6 twin-turbo 3.5L petrol engine that achieves class-leading performance that surpasses that of a conventional V8, producing 409hp and up to 650 Nm. Multi-Terrain Select provides support to otherwise problematic road conditions to prevent from getting stuck, losing speed, or down with a case of spinning wheels. Manually toggle between Dirt, Sand, Mud, Deep Snow, and Rock, or leave it to Auto and go forth confidently as the system reasons with torque, suspension, and brake hydraulics for guaranteed off-road performance.
The Hilux GR redefines tough performance highlighting tough yet emotional design with enhanced exterior appearance and comfortable interiors. The latest edition of GR Hilux has a refined contemporary look as well as excellent on and off-road capability. It will also appeal to active young individuals, private and family customer bases. The Hilux GR has a 4L engine producing 235hp with Tiptronic 6-Speed Transmission. Performance and safety are greatly upgraded, with a new frame and suspension and range of features, the statement added.
