The former Qatari national team player Adel Khamis hailed the level of Qatar's national football team in their opener match against Kuwait at the Arabian Gulf Football Cup (Gulf 25) hosted by the Iraqi city of Basra until Jan 19.
He also affirmed his confidence in the Qatari national team's ability to win in today's match against Bahrain in the second round of Group B competitions in the tournament.
In a statement today, Adel Khamis said obtaining the first three points gives the team and players a morale boost and gives them confidence, especially since some players are participating in the tournament for the first time and the opening match victory win will serve as a motivation for next clashes.
Regarding today's confrontation against Bahrain, the former Qatar's national team player, who participated in previous Gulf editions starting from the 1986 edition, said the Bahraini national team is the defending champion and has technical stability, and the Qatari team have to focus on the competitor's weaknesses and exploit them well.
