The Department of Marine Environment Protection, Doha Unit, at the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change detected fishing nets that violated the stipulated conditions for the coral reef area. These were immediately confiscated and a violation report was issued to fishermen. Accordingly, the ministry pointed out that fishing without licence is not allowed and it is completely banned to fish using multilayer nets, while fishing is also banned near coral reefs, as these are considered breeding areas for marine organisms.
