The Mahaseel for Marketing and Agricultural Services Company, a subsidiary of Hassad Food, has succeeded in marketing nearly 60,000 tons of local produce in the Qatari market, over the past three years.
Hassad Food, Qatar's premier investor in food and agribusiness, announced in coordination with Ministry of Municipality, that Mahaseel received around 50,000 supplies over the past three years, and received approximately 5.5mn kg of local produce per month, during peak times. The company receives vegetables of different grades, following the technical specifications approved by the Ministry of Municipality, and published on the company's website.
In line with Hassad's investment strategy, which includes supporting and developing local projects that contribute to achieving food security, and in coordination with the Ministry of Municipality, Mahaseel provides marketing and agricultural services to farmers, with the aim of showcasing the added value of local produce and motivate farmers to increase local production.
Moreover, in coordination with the Ministry of Municipality, Mahaseel provides its services to more than 400 local farms and markets their fresh produce through 100 outlets around the country. Mahaseel manages its operations with full transparency and professionalism, through documenting all its transactions. The company also provides training courses to farmers and conducts field visits to farms.
