The Expo 2023 Doha, the first International Association of Horticultural Producers (AIPH)-approved A1 World Horticultural Expo in the Middle East, will be a distinguished platform for high-level discussions and public and private partnerships in horticulture, agriculture and sustainability, a top official has said.
HE Sheikh Suhaim al-Thani, representative of Expo 2023 Doha, told Qatar Radio that 49 countries have agreed to participate in the exhibition in addition to four intergovernmental organisations. He invited all segments of society to follow updates on the exhibition's social media platforms.
Works are ongoing at Al Bidda Park which will be the home of Expo 2023 Doha for six months from October 2, 2023, until March 28, 2024. The 1.7mn sqm venue will be divided into three zones – International Zone, Family Zone and Cultural Zone. Preparations are on by the Ministry of Municipality while working on the first-ever tour of Expo House, Expo 2023 Doha’s unique legacy building.
Covered in greenery, the Expo House in the form of a hill, is integrated into the landscape of Al Bidda Park. It is shaped like a semicircle, with a vast open space in front and a fountain as a centrepiece. The benches along the sides of the pavilion form a natural amphitheatre, offering stunning views and a perfect spot for the Expo’s events and gatherings, a statement added.
