The Chinese duo Lin Shidong and Kuai Man were crowned in the mixed doubles category at the World Table Tennis (WTT) Contender Doha 2023 held in Lusail Sports Arena as part of the Qatar WTT championship until Jan 21, with the participation of 190 male and female players representing 40 countries.
The Chinese duo won the title after defeating South Korean duo Lim Jong-hoon and Shin Yu-bin yesterday 3-0 in the final match of the tournament.
The quarter-finals and semi-finals of the men's and women's singles category were also held yesterday, while the men's and women's doubles finals will be played today.
It is noteworthy that the Qatar WTT championship includes three tournaments.
Assistant Secretary of the Qatar Table Tennis Association and director of the tournament Ali Sultan Al Muftah expressed his happiness at organising the mixed doubles final yesterday in the best way, extending his congratulations to the Chinese duo who won the title in this category and the Korean duo who won second place.
In a statement to Qatar News Agency (QNA) Al Muftah said that the result of the match was normal for the Chinese duo given that China has a great history in this game and has world champions and top rankers, describing the match between the players of the Chinese and Korean teams as good.
