The Akurana Community Qatar (ACQ) held its first event of the year, a ‘Barbeque Night’ at Al Bidda Park, aimed at increasing the bond among its members. “It was a great evening where several bachelors and families gathered and enjoyed the evening with hometown flavours,” said ACQ founder Zameer Nayeem.
Sri Lankan flavoured short eats and tea were followed by games to introduce new and old ACQ members to each other. ACQ was formed in 2015 in Doha by expatriates hailing from Akurana - a suburb town of Kandy district in the central province of Sri Lanka. Members have been involved in different social and welfare activities in Qatar and Sri Lanka. “We at ACQ as a community, urge all those who hail from Akurana and living in Qatar, to join hands with us in upcoming events to enjoy the taste of home,” Nayeem added.
