The Agriculture Affairs Department at the Ministry of Municipality has been organising various activities and events at Al Mazrooah Yard for selling local agriculture products to further promote the shopping destination, pointed out Ahmed al-Yafei, head of the agriculture guidance section at the department. In an interview with local Arabic daily 'Arrayah', he stressed that special fairs such as the Sidra fruit and honey exhibition launched Thursday at Al Mazrooah for the second consecutive year have proven to be very successful in helping farm owners in marketing their products and exchange the related ideas and experiences.
"Local products are of high quality and deserve to get all the necessary support to promote them," al-Yafei said, while explaining that the Agriculture Affairs Department has plans to organise different fairs and exhibitions every two or three weeks to support local producers and help shoppers get fresh products easily at reasonable prices. Dr Mohamed Jawher said such events have enhanced the shopping experience and boosted sales in the yard.
He stressed the need for more marketing and promotional campaigns to further popularise the yard. Mohamed al-Anzi observed that Al Mazrooah yard has given shoppers the opportunity to buy high-quality fresh products at very reasonable prices when compared to other retailers. He also noticed that large amounts of vegetables are supplied to the market in the weekends. Mohamed al-Harbi said such festivals and fairs give farm owners the opportunity to market their products directly without intermediaries, which helps reduce the final price for the consumers.
