Renowned celebrity chef and culinary expert Pazhayidom Mohanan Namboothiri from the southern Indian state of Kerala, has arrived in Doha under the patronage of Qatar’s leading retailer Lulu Hypermarket Group for preparing 'Special Sadhya' and other traditional delicacies for LuLu’s shoppers, on February 3.
The 'Special Sadhya' in banana leaves with 22 items including rice, sambar, avial, thoran, rasam, kalan, olan kichadi, pachadi, erussery, parippu curry, kootu curry, palada payasam, parippu pradaman payasam, injipuly, lemon pickle, kondattam, sarakara varatti, banana chips salted and banana will be available in all LuLu Hypermarket outlets in Qatar on the day.
Customers can book the 'Special Sadhya' in advance either in-store or online until 7pm Thursday. In-store booking can be done at any LuLu Hypermarket's customer service counters.
The visit of the celebrity chef is aligned with the ongoing India Utsav 2023 celebrations hosted by the LuLu Group in the region until February 5.
India Utsav was inaugurated last week by Indian ambassador to Qatar Dr Deepak Mittal at LuLu Hypermarket, Barwa Family Housing, Madinatna on the sidelines of the Republic Day of India celebrations.
Pazhayidom Mohanan Namboothiri, a native of Kottayam district of Kerala and having a master’s degree in physics, opted to become a fervent follower of the great Malamel Neelakandan Namboothiri who used to prepare food for thousands of people at youth festivals in Kerala.
After the turn of Neelakandan Namboothiri, Pazhayidom took over the mantle in 2006 and since then has been managing the massive kitchen in many major events in Kerala and abroad where hundreds of thousands have enjoyed his culinary magic.
