An earthquake measuring 4.4 on the Richter took place today in the Mediterranean Sea off the coast of Hatay in southern Turkey.
The Turkish Disaster and Emergency Management Presidency (AFAD) said the epicentre of the earthquake occurred 50.7 km from the coast of Yayladag district of the state, at a depth of 44.17 km, Turkey's Anadolu Agency reported.
Earlier today, an earthquake measuring 5.3 on the Richter scale struck Adi Yaman state in Golbasi district, southeastern Turkey.
An earthquake struck at dawn on Monday, Turkey and Syria, with a magnitude of 7.7 on the Richter scale, followed by another with a magnitude of 7.6, leaving huge losses of lives and property in the two countries.
